The Village of Thong Krut
The Beach Samui is nestled on the southern tip of Koh Samui in the sleepy fishing village of Thong Krut, only a 45-minute drive from Koh Samui International airport, and on one of the most underdeveloped beaches on the island - overlooking an archipelago that makes up Moo Koh Ang Thong, the national marine park.
Here, friendly villagers and fishermen mingle with those who wish to find an escape-from-it-all paradise destination, yet Thong Krut is also the perfect base for a holiday filled with adventure of a more simple kind. From yoga and meditation, to island-hopping, to monkey-operated coconut farms, to temples, to simple stargazing on the beach at nighttime, to taking a mountain bike to a dusty road, to paddleboarding along the coastline, to sitting sipping the most incredible coffee in one of Samui's best coffee spots, The Beach Samui provides the perfect respite.
Thong Krut has some of the best selection of restaurants on the island, all run by either locals or those who have also fallen in love with the areas charm, and most within a 2 minute walk or 5 minutes by car, you will be spoiled for choice when it comes to food – our favourites are ‘Hemingway’s on the Beach’, ‘The Melting Pot’, ‘Green Ta’lay’, 'NunBao', and some of the street food is to die for, oh and for an amazing coffee, ‘Boy’s Coffee’ is right next door.
